Professor Nana Ama Browne Klutse, Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), has underscored Ghana’s commitment to sustainable development and climate justice at the BIPOC Climate Justice Summit held in New York.

She joined a distinguished panel discussion themed “System Shifts: From Exploitation to Regeneration”, which explored how global systems can transition from extractive models toward regenerative ones that prioritize both people and the planet.

The dialogue brought together climate leaders, policymakers, and grassroots advocates from across the globe to address pressing issues of justice, resilience, and equity in tackling the climate crisis.

Professor Klutse emphasized the urgent need for inclusive approaches that center vulnerable communities while reimagining economic and environmental systems for long-term sustainability.

“The conversation around regeneration is not just about restoring ecosystems but about building fairer, resilient societies where no one is left behind,” she noted.

The summit, which highlights Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) leadership in climate action, provided a platform for diverse voices to exchange ideas and strengthen global solidarity in the fight against climate change.

Professor Klutse’s participation reflects Ghana’s growing leadership role in advocating for climate justice and sustainable transitions on the international stage.
