Education Ministry Releases 2025 BECE Placements; Over 107,000 Students to Use Self-Placement Portal

The Ministry of Education has announced the release of the 2025 school placement results for candidates who sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Out of 603,328 students who wrote the exams, 590,309 qualified for placement into Senior High Schools (SHSs), Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs), and Technical and Vocational Institutions (TVIs).
According to the Ministry, 483,800 candidates about 82% have been automatically placed, while 107,509 candidates will need to use the self-placement portal to select their schools.
Deputy Education Minister Dr. Clement Apaak explained that the limited slots in high-demand schools prevented some students from being matched with their top choices. He urged affected students to take advantage of the active self-placement system.

Resolution centres have been set up at district, regional, and national levels, with GNAT Hall in Accra serving as the national centre.
The Ministry emphasized that the placement process is completely free and warned parents and guardians against paying individuals for guaranteed school placements.
