Police Declare Suspect Wanted in Alleged Killing of Car Seller in Accra

April 15,2026

The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for a suspect in connection with the suspected killing of 27-year-old Theophilus Ashitey Amarh.

According to the Accra Regional Police Command, the victim left his residence on April 6, 2026, to sell his Hyundai Elantra after being introduced to a potential buyer by a middleman identified as Wisdom Tetteh. He, however, failed to return home.

Police investigations indicate that Amarh was last seen at the suspect’s residence at Saasabi, where he had been invited to meet the supposed buyer.

A follow-up visit to the location on April 10 led to the discovery of suspected bloodstains, raising concerns of foul play. The scene has since been processed by the National Crime Scene Management Team, with support from the Criminal Investigations Department’s Anti-Armed Robbery Unit.

Despite ongoing search efforts involving local authorities and community members, the victim has not yet been found.

Investigators believe the suspect may have fled Ghana to neighboring Togo. Authorities have declared him wanted and are working with international agencies, including INTERPOL, to track and apprehend him.

The police have urged the public to provide any relevant information that could assist in the ongoing investigation.
