Fuel Prices Expected to Decline from October 16 as Cedi Strengthens

October 15,2025

Prices of petrol, diesel, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) are projected to decline from October 16, 2025, driven by the strengthening of the Ghana cedi.

Projected Price Reductions

According to projections released on October 15, fuel prices are expected to decrease as follows:

  • Petrol: 2.04% to 4.15% decline
  • Diesel: 2.08% to 4.10% decline
  • LPG: 2.49% to 4.46% decline

Cedi Performance Drives Decline

The anticipated price reductions come as the Ghana cedi continues to perform strongly against major trading currencies. The currency's improved performance has reduced the cost of importing petroleum products, translating into lower prices at the pump for consumers.

This marks a positive development for Ghanaian motorists and households who have faced elevated fuel costs in recent periods.

The new prices will take effect from October 16, 2025, at fuel stations nationwide.
