NDC Youth Organizer Locks YEA Office in Abura Dunkwa Over Recruitment Dispute October 24, 2025 

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) office at the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District Assembly was forcibly locked on Friday by the constituency's NDC Youth Organizer, Abraham Hamilton, popularly known as "Shaha."

The incident occurred after Hamilton discovered that youth within the constituency had been enrolled in the YEA programme without his knowledge and involvement. The enrollments were conducted by YEA Director Patrick Eshun in consultation with District Chief Executive Hon. Daniel Mensah Wardy and NDC Constituency Communication Officer Nana Attakora Asante.

Hamilton reportedly took the office keys with fierce force and locked the premises, asserting his authority over youth programmes in the district. Report from eyewitness indicate he claimed to have the backing of the Member of Parliament, Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

The YEA Director and DCE were unable to retrieve the keys during the confrontation. Despite hours of appeals from unlookers within the district assembly Hamilton refused to reopen the office.

The standoff was eventually resolved when youth from the local community physically intervened and retrieved the keys from Hamilton. Following the incident, Hamilton allegedly threatened to report those involved to the MP for sanctions.

The situation highlights tensions over youth program management and authority within the constituency's political structure. Further developments are expected to follow and the public shall be duly informed.
