September 22, 2025
Ghana’s First Lady Mrs. Lordina Mahama will address world leaders and faith-based advocates today at the 7th Annual United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Prayer Service for Children.
The event, themed “A Moment of Hope,” takes place at the Church Center for the United Nations’ Tillman Chapel on the sidelines of the UNGA’s 80th Session. Organized by World Vision International in partnership with global humanitarian and faith-based organizations, the gathering focuses on six dimensions of hope: compassion, resilience, purpose, joy, wisdom, and spiritual life.
Mrs. Mahama’s keynote will highlight her longstanding commitment to children’s welfare and empowerment, showcasing her efforts to improve education, healthcare, and social support systems for vulnerable children in Ghana and across Africa.
Other high-profile speakers include Rev. Andrew J. Morley, President and CEO of World Vision International, and Mrs. Cindy McCain, Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme.
The Prayer Service seeks to inspire global action for the protection and upliftment of children, especially amid today’s complex humanitarian challenges.
