Former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has stated emphatically that he will not apologise for his comment describing Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as a liar.
Speaking at a public event, Mr. Agyapong dismissed calls for an apology, insisting that he stands by his statement and has no intention of retracting it. “I’ll apologise my foot,” he reportedly said, in response to growing criticism over the remark.
His comments have sparked renewed political debate, with supporters and critics sharply divided over the appropriateness of his language and the substance of his claims. While some view his stance as bold and consistent with his outspoken political style, others have described the remarks as reckless and disrespectful.
The controversy adds to ongoing tensions within Ghana’s political discourse as the country continues to grapple with heightened partisan exchanges ahead of future political activities.
As of the time of filing this report, the Vice President has not publicly responded to Mr. Agyapong’s comments.
