Ghanata SHS Bursar Arrested Over Alleged Diversion of Students’ Food Supplies

The bursar of Ghanata Senior High School, Lamisi Sarah, has been arrested for allegedly diverting food items meant for students of the school.

The development was confirmed by the Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku and Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, who described the allegations as troubling and a serious breach of public trust.

According to the Minister, her office received credible reports indicating that quantities of food supplies intended to support students’ nutrition and welfare were being misappropriated. She stressed that such actions, if proven, directly undermine efforts to ensure students receive adequate nourishment.

Upon receiving the complaints, Minister Ocloo said she notified the constituency’s National Security apparatus to carry out a discreet investigation. The inquiry reportedly confirmed the allegations during her visit to the constituency on Tuesday, February 17, leading to the bursar’s arrest.

The Minister disclosed that she instructed security officers to hand the suspect over to the Police to allow due process to take its course. Investigations are currently ongoing.

She emphasised that any act that compromises student welfare or misuses public resources will not be tolerated. Reaffirming her commitment to accountability, Minister Ocloo assured residents that individuals found culpable would face the full rigours of the law.

The incident has sparked concern among community members, as authorities continue investigations into the matter.
