“Nkoko Nkitinkiti” Scandal: Beneficiary List Sparks Political Tension in AAK
April 3, 2026
A major controversy has erupted in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese (AAK) constituency following allegations that the government’s “Nkoko Nkitinkiti” poultry initiative is being used to influence internal political loyalties.
Sources within the constituency claim that selected branch chairpersons invited under the programme were promised 50 chicks each but were instead given 40, without feed. They further allege that beneficiaries were warned not to support the current constituency chairman, Vincent Koomson, or risk losing the allocation.
An official beneficiary list cited by sources reportedly includes several individuals, among them Theophilus Amos, Abraham Etrue Hamilton, Anthony Merful,Napoleon Nsarkoh Tawiah, Aba Edusah, Sakinatu Bondzie and Paa Kwesi Bennin.
Notably, Theophilus Amos, Abraham Etrue Hamilton and Sakinatu Bondzie are identified as constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who are said to have benefited from the initiative.
The “Nkoko Nketenkete” programme is a government intervention aimed at supporting livelihoods through poultry farming. However, critics argue that the alleged politicisation of the initiative undermines its purpose and raises concerns about transparency and fairness.
There has been no official response from authorities or the individuals named, but the issue is already deepening tensions within the constituency, with calls growing for a thorough investigation into the matter.
