March 10,2026

Former Women's Organiser of the National Democratic Congress, Anita De Soso, has voiced strong support for growing agitation among grassroots members of the party, urging the leadership to pay closer attention to loyal supporters who have sacrificed for the party.

Speaking in an interview on TV XYZ, De Soso expressed concern that some party faithful who worked tirelessly for the party’s success have been neglected.

According to her, many grassroots members endured significant hardships to support the party over the years and deserve recognition and support from the party’s top hierarchy.

“There are people who suffered for the party, but today they have been neglected,” she said during the interview.

De Soso also recounted an instance involving some of her followers who reportedly gave her GH₵500 as an allowance. She explained that she handed the money over to her driver, questioning what use such an amount would be for her given the large number of people she works with.

“What am I going to use GH₵500 for with all my followers?” she asked, emphasizing the broader challenges grassroots organizers face.

She cautioned the party’s leadership to remain mindful of the sacrifices made by loyal members and to ensure that those who stood by the party in difficult times are not overlooked.

De Soso further stressed that she would continue to speak openly on issues affecting the party, declaring that she does not fear anyone when advocating for the welfare of grassroots supporters.

“I will say it. I don’t fear anyone,” she stated.

Her remarks come amid increasing calls within the party’s grassroots structures for greater recognition and inclusion in decision-making processes.
