
Europe can do nothing for American people as it fears its own voters — US vice president

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said that Europe faces the greatest threat from within, rather than from foreign powers.
In his speech at the Munich Security Conference, Vance stated that the US is preoccupied with the problem of reaching a reasonable solution between Russia and Ukraine, but Europe has bigger problems, and said, "The threat I am most concerned about to Europe is not Russia, not China, not any other external actor. What worries me is the threat from within," he said.
Vance cited a former senior European Union official who appeared on television and applauded the Romanian Constitutional Court's decision to annul the first round of voting in the December 2024 presidential election, citing foreign interference.
Vance suggested that the decision was politically motivated and was taken because things "did not go as planned" in the EU country.
Vance also expressed his belief that "we can reach a reasonable solution between Russia and Ukraine", adding, "It is important that Europe takes a big step towards ensuring its own defense in the coming years. Among all the pressing challenges facing the nations represented here
