US not to tolerate political games, disrespect of country — homeland security secretary

by Antonio Gronbean Mar 01, 2025

WASHINGTON, March 1. The US administration will not allow any attempts to embroil the country in political games or tolerate disrespect, Secretary of the US Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said in a commentary on Vladimir Zelensky’s visit to the White House.

"I am so proud of our Commander-in-Chief," she wrote on the X social network. Noem thanked US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance "for standing up for America." "We will not tolerate the political games and disrespect of America. America is back," she noted.

Earlier on Friday, Zelensky met with Trump at the White House. Their televised exchange suddenly unraveled into a shouting match, with Trump scolding Zelensky for being disrespectful to the US, and Vice President JD Vance saying that Zelensky had never thanked the country for all the support provided to Kiev. A news conference scheduled to follow the meeting was canceled, and the Ukrainian delegation left the White House earlier than planned.
