Ghana Shines at World Armwrestling Championship with 2 Silver and 1 Bronze

Team Ghana has made the nation proud on the global stage after securing two silver medals and one bronze at the just-ended World Armwrestling Championship.

The impressive feat adds to Ghana’s growing reputation as a force in the sport, with athletes demonstrating resilience, power, and determination against some of the world’s best arm wrestlers.

Draped in the national colours, the Ghanaian contingent stood tall, with their sterling performances attracting applause from fans and officials. The medals mark another milestone for the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, which has been working tirelessly to develop and popularize the sport across the country.

President of the Federation, Charles Osei Asibey, commended the athletes for their dedication, noting that the achievement is proof that Ghana can compete at the highest level in armwrestling. He appealed for more support from corporate Ghana and government to invest in the sport, stressing that with better resources, Ghanaian athletes could bring home gold in future championships.

This year’s performance follows Ghana’s consistent rise in global rankings and is expected to inspire more young talents to take up armwrestling as a professional sport.
