Fire Ravages Sections of Abura Dunkwa District Hospital

A fire outbreak has destroyed parts of the Abura Dunkwa District Hospital in the Central Region, causing extensive damage to property and medical supplies.
The incident occurred on the evening of Thursday, June 11, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m., affecting the hospital's Laundry Unit and Main Pharmacy.
According to preliminary reports, the blaze destroyed several items in the Laundry Department, including washing machines, detergents, baby clothing, bedsheets, and other essential supplies used in the hospital's daily operations.
The fire also spread to the Main Pharmacy, where a significant quantity of medical supplies was lost. Items destroyed include medicines, infusions, disposable medical equipment, and other pharmaceutical products.
Personnel from the Abura Dunkwa District Fire Service responded swiftly to the emergency and successfully brought the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to other sections of the facility.
No casualties have been reported so far.
