Vice President Opoku-Agyemang Honoured with Distinguished Fellow Award by UCC

Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of Ghana, has been honoured with a Distinguished Fellow Award by the University of Cape Coast in recognition of her outstanding leadership, academic contributions, and service to national development.
The ceremony took place at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the university in Cape Coast.
The award celebrates the Vice President’s longstanding commitment to education, scholarship, and public service. Before entering national politics, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang built an extensive academic career and also served as the first female Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast.
In a statement, the Presidency congratulated the Vice President for the honour, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of her contributions to Ghana’s academic and national development landscape.
The recognition further highlights her influence in shaping education policy and leadership in Ghana’s public sector.
