April 28,2026

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has reported significant institutional transformation under the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer, Nana Ama Browne Klutse, within a 15-month period.

According to data available to vistanewsgh.com, the EPA has expanded its operational footprint by opening 50 new district offices across the country. This move is aimed at strengthening environmental governance and bringing regulatory services closer to communities.

In addition, the Authority has recruited 2,300 new staff to enhance its workforce capacity and improve efficiency in monitoring, compliance, and enforcement activities nationwide.

As part of efforts to boost logistics, the EPA has also procured 80 new vehicles through its Internally Generated Funds (IGF), significantly improving mobility and field operations.

The agency’s ongoing digital transformation has seen key operations automated, leading to increased transparency and faster service delivery. This shift has contributed to a 50% increase in revenue generation, reflecting improved efficiency and compliance systems.

Officials indicate that these reforms are already yielding positive environmental outcomes, with key indicators showing signs of improvement.

The developments underscore a broader strategy to reposition the EPA as a more responsive, data-driven, and results-oriented regulatory body in Ghana’s environmental management sector.
