Mahama to Visit South Korea for High-Level Bilateral Talks

President John Dramani Mahama will embark on a four-day working visit to the Republic of Korea from March 10 to March 14, 2026, the Presidency has announced.

According to a statement issued by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, the President will depart Accra on Sunday to begin a series of high-level engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Ghana and South Korea.

During the visit, President Mahama is expected to hold bilateral talks with the President of South Korea, Lee Jae Myung. He will also meet the Speaker of the Korean National Assembly, Woo Won-shik, to discuss issues of mutual interest and cooperation.

As part of his official engagements, President Mahama will attend a ship-naming ceremony at the Hyundai Shipyard in Ulsan. He is also scheduled to deliver a speech at a conferment ceremony at Yonsei University.

Other activities on the President’s itinerary include an interaction with Ghanaians living, studying, and working in South Korea, as well as a dinner meeting with chief executives and business leaders to explore potential investment and economic collaboration opportunities.

The visit is expected to deepen diplomatic and economic ties between Ghana and South Korea while promoting cooperation in areas such as industry, trade, and technology.
